1.
We've lost our hearts, we've lost our souls, 300 miles from what we've known, our days of youth are gone and the faces we knew faded into dust. They say home is where the heart is so I'm being left heartless, stumbling home in morning light back to an empty room. Euphoria for tired eyes; drink down, spirit; anaesthetise. Drink down spirit, drink down, spirit. I'm not a social pariah - a voiceless victim of mistrust. I'm not a modern messiah - I just need time to adjust. Drink down.
2.
Roadside mattress hotel, home to men we never knew: prophets of the modern age, holy scripture in their veins. A modern day Diogenes, for 21st century gods, appointed by our hate machines, anointed with liquid gold; writing sermons in wet concrete, drunk preaching in winter cold. Red lightbulb of heaven's heat - never clean, forever old. Lonely footsteps.

Hamelin 01:23
Minutes move inches, sun rises, I can see the light through my eyelids, removing crust from the corners. Regretting the death of the rest I lost, takes hours to reset but barely recover. Each day becomes more a waste than the other. Like rats to pipers flute, led to jobs by mourning bells. Wasting time, passing out, falling hard. Wasting time, passing out, falling down hard.
5.
Die, we'll die in sleepless arms with outstretched hands. We'll die and never know our enemies. Love, we'll love in open arms with poured-out hearts. We'll love and always know our best intentions. Talking won't save my art, walking away won't save my soul. Rough hands, cold heart - no cause for useless art. Six miles apart - no use for lifeless heart.
