Recorded as part of the "The Distance Within Our Bodies" album session. This version is just a rough mix and master, but we felt like it needed to be put out, rather than just losing it to the ether.
The song concerns a number of physical health problems Ollie encountered just before Solanas began, and originally appeared in a slightly different form on the 'November Sessions' demo in late 2013.
lyrics
Hypodermic fingers under pale skin tied down with umbilical plastic
Taking life, taking life and blood
Endless sleep from drains and lights.
Endless noise (repeating, repeating)
Blossom covered with ageing death
Flowers curling, edges black (edges black)
Steel and skin, iodine.
Flowers curling, edges black (edges black)
An exorcism of airless breath.
The smell of bleach corrosive on tongue
Acrid, sour, cleaner than reality.
Breathless
Collapse
No light
No heat
When you’re in a room with no light, how can it be right to believe in dreams?
When there’s no room to breathe, how can it be right to believe?
Air raid siren, orange light
Screaming noises, totally immobile
Air raid siren, orange light
Can’t even think in this room
Flowers curling, edges black (edges black)
Steel and skin, iodine.
